Mission Statement
As Administrator my job is to oversee day to day operations of all Departments and services provided by the Town Government. In Derry we operate under a Town Charter that was enacted by the voters more than twenty years ago.
In that form of government, the Town Council is elected by the voters and serves as the chief policy making board of the Town. Council appoints a Town Administrator, based solely upon his/her professional qualifications. As Administrator I serve at the pleasure of the Council, carry out policy decisions of the Council, keep the Council informed of the Town’s needs and ongoing conditions and provide reports as requested by Council or judged necessary by the Administrator. As Administrator I take part in all discussions of the council but act in a non-voting, advisory capacity.
I am happy to be a part of a fine organization that is represented by an excellent staff and will work along with Council and staff to continue to improve Derry as a great place to live, raise a family, work and relax. My background is primarily in local government and I have served as City Manager in Rochester, New Hampshire, three communities in Connecticut and one in Maryland. In each community that I serve I try to be active in a variety of civic activities.
I urge you to take full advantage of Derry’s Municipal Web Site. The best way to describe it is GREAT. It has many features not found on most Municipal Web Sites. I particularly like our latest feature which is our G.I.S. program. Through this feature you can research any geographic feature of the Town including topography, aerial maps, utilities, individual property and many more features. It’s fun and easy to use. While you’re at it try the other great features and visit us as often as you like.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us and we will do our best to respond promptly. You will find contact links on each department’s web pages. If you have additional questions or concerns that are not answered by the appropriate department, feel free to e-mail us or you can call 603-432-6100.
